  • Promotional event by the LWCFully manned Health and Wellbeing promotional stand providing information regarding treatment and education services offered at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre.
  • Provision of 100 “goodie bags” containing a range of items (e.g. LWC pen, stress ball, a small edible treat, stretching advice cards, LWC leaflets) – to be distributed to those who visit the stand.

Cost: £595 + VAT inclusive of all expenses.

Includes 6 hours of assessments, so a maximum of 24 employees can be seen. These can be run in-house at your workplace.

Sitting at a desk and staring at your computer screen every day can have a huge negative impact on your health.
Whether you have an existing work-related injury, or you are interested in taking preventative action, we have specialists who can visit your workplace to perform a thorough workstation assessment.

Allowing you to perform at your best

Our workstation assessment providers are qualified and experienced health professionals with specialist training in ergonomic assessment. They will assess your working environment, ergonomic setup and your work processes. During the assessment, they will identify potential issues that may be a cause of pain or discomfort.

The assessor will set up your chair and desk with you, and explain the reasons for your bespoke setup. They will provide a comprehensive evaluation and clear direction regarding your current working environment. A formal report can also be supplied if required by your employer.

Impartial, independent advice

We are not aligned with any particular office equipment supplier, and do not make a commission from equipment suppliers that we recommend.

Costs

We can either provide individual workstation assessments for at a cost of £100 + VAT, a half day of assessments (up to 6 assessments) at a cost of £395 + VAT or a full day of assessments (up to 12 assessments) for £545 + VAT.

Lunchtime Talks & Seminars

Our lunchtime talks include a wide (and ever expanding!) range of key health & wellbeing issues. Our speakers are drawn from a range of relevant work spheres, such as Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre practitioners, leading consultants, community members and guest speakers.

Talks are intended to provide insight, to provoke thought and discussion, to bestow advice, and to sharing our speaker’s experience to create more awareness of the impacts that health issues have on us all.

Below are descriptions of several talks/seminars we can provide:

  • Looking after your emotional and physical wellbeing

    Speaker: Janice Kaye, Director of Clinical Services at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre (Osteopath and Naturopath).
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    This talk will explore how the complex architecture of our modern lives affects our physical & emotional wellbeing. Topics that will be covered include:

    • What is “The Good Life” – How do we personally measure our own wellbeing?
    • Overwork/burnout: Understanding mental exhaustion
    • What is stress? Exploring ways to manage stress through exercise and creating space and “pause” in your life
    • The 7 “Must Do’s” to help you achieve Emotional and Physical Wellbeing
    • The importance of sleep – the most underrated of all health habits

    Speaker: Steve Hines is a Nutritionist and Physiotherapist running weekly clinical sessions at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre, and an experienced speaker on nutrition.
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    This talk will cover the following:

    • The number 1 thing that people are getting wrong with their diets and what to do about it
    • How to cut sugar and carbs out and what to replace them with
    • What you MUST do every day to help you achieve optimum health

  • Sports Event Preparation

    Speaker: Steve Hines is a Nutritionist and Physiotherapist running weekly clinical sessions at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre, and an experienced speaker on nutrition.
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    This talk will cover how to prepare yourself for a major sporting event including advice on tapering your training, preparing your mind (mindfulness: setting realistic goals/ staying positive and motivated/ use of visualisation), setting a sleep routine and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.

  • Looking After Your Back and Neck at Work

    Speaker: Consultant osteopath/physiotherapist specialising in back pain prevention/ergonomic awareness training. Speaker will be one of a team dependent on availability.
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    A Consultant Osteopath will provide a talk on how staff can look after their back and neck in the workplace. These consultants work closely with the Lloyds Wellbeing Centre and provide training in back care to industry and specialise in seated worker musculoskeletal health. This talk is tailored for office-based desk workers.

  • All Things Heart Related

    Speaker: Dr Guy Lloyd, Heart Specialist Practitioner at the London Bridge Hospital and St Bartholomews.
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    This talk will explore a variety of points relating to looking after your heart health, and will cover topics such as:

    • How your heart works
    • Heart conditions
    • What puts me at risk of heart and circulatory disease?
    • Signs & symptoms of heart disease
    • The latest diagnosis and heart treatments available
    • Keeping your heart healthy

  • Men's Health: Focus on Prostate Health

    Speaker: To be advised. Speaker will be one of a team of London based prostate medical specialists.
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    This talk will cover:

    • Where and what is the prostate?

    • What are my risks of prostate cancer?

    Speaker: Bernadette Phelan, Clinical Nurse Manager, Breast Care (The Wellington Hospital). If not available, then speaker will be one of a team of London based breast cancer prevention medical specialists.

  • Managing Stress in Everyday Life

    Speaker: Dr Daniela Hecht, Counselling Psychologist at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre.
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    This talk explores stress is in our lives:

    • Physical and Mental Stress.
    • How do you know if you are suffering from stress?
    • Determining your personal tolerance levels to stressful situations?
    • Why is it important to manage stress: Effects of stress on us physically and mentally?
    • Tips to reduce and control stress in our everyday lives: Importance of nutrition and exercise on reducing stress.
    • Reduce stress through changing the way you view things, being realistic, ‘project manage’ tasks that seem too large, sharing problems, re-thinking strategy and taking breaks and more…
    • How mediation, mindfulness and visualisation can help you manage stress.
  • Improving your Sleep

    Speaker: Janice Kaye, Director of Clinical Services at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre (Osteopath and Naturopath).
    Duration: 50 minutes.

    • Is poor sleep epidemic? This introductory talk will begin by outlining the process our bodies go through in switching into sleep before examining what is considered enough sleep and why is sleep so important to us?
    • What is quality sleep? Advice on nurturing good sleeping habits, the effects of body temperature on sleep, diet and how it effects sleep/importance of preparing your sleep space/habits that help and hinder sleep/exercise and sleep/ How to combat the effects of stress and anxiety on sleep.

Back & Neck Care

  • Mini Individual Back and Neck Consultations

    Duration: 20-minute sessions at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre, with a consultant osteopath/physiotherapist specialising in back pain prevention/ergonomic awareness training.

    Individual desk-based consultations to take place at the desks of employees who are experiencing musculoskeletal related issues. The osteopath will perform 20-minute ‘mini’ DSE overviews and speak with the employees individually (3 per hour) about any concerns they have over their back and neck problems in the workplace. This can be done in a separate consultation room or at the desk of the employees (whichever your employee prefers).

Yoga, Pilates & Meditation Classes

  • Yoga Taster or Yoga Classes

    Yoga at Lloyds

    Duration: 50-minutes per class (or per ‘taster’ session). Sessions are guided by an experience yoga teacher from the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre team.

    ‘Taster’ session: An introductory 50-minute taster session of open level yoga, to be provided by one of our expert yoga teachers in-house. Maximum 15 delegates on each session. This can act as a valuable catalyst to starting up the practice of yoga and springboard interested staff into continuing yoga on a weekly basis at the Lloyd’s Building or arranging regular in-house sessions through the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre’s yoga team. See below.

    Weekly or bi-monthly classes: One of our team of experienced yoga teachers can come to your offices to run weekly sessions which will further encourage new participants. In-house yoga run by the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre has the added benefit that staff become familiar with the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre teacher and can supplement weekly in-house sessions by visiting Yoga at Lloyd’s.

  • Pilates Taster or Pilates Classes

    Duration: 50-minutes per class (or per ‘taster’ session). Sessions are guided by Alessio Barone, an experienced Pilates instructor from the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre Pilates team. Alessio is also a physiotherapist at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre.

    ‘Taster’ session: An introductory 50-minute session of open level Pilates. Maximum 15 delegates on each session.

    Weekly or bi-monthly classes: One of our team of experienced Pilates instructors can come to your offices to run weekly sessions which will further encourage new participants. In-house Pilates classes run by the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre have the added benefit that staff become familiar with the instructor and can supplement weekly in-house sessions by visiting further Pilates classes at Lloyd’s.

  • Meditation Taster or Meditation Classes

    Meditation and Mindfulness

    Duration: 50-minutes per class (or per ‘taster’ session).

    ‘Taster’ session: An introductory 50-minute session of guided meditation, to be provided by one of our expert teachers in-house. Maximum 15 delegates on each session.

    Weekly or bi-monthly classes: One of our team of experienced meditation instructors can come to your offices to run weekly sessions which will further encourage new participants. In-house guided meditation run by the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre has the added benefit that staff become familiar with the instructor and can supplement weekly in-house sessions by visiting further meditation classes at Lloyd’s.

Massage & Mini-Massage Sessions

  • In-house Mini-Massage Sessions

    Indian Head Massage

    Duration: 15-minute massage sessions (minimum of 4 hour slots must be booked).

    Provision of chair-based upper back and neck massages, provided by one of the massage therapists from the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre. The massages are held in 10-15-minute slots on a seated massage chair. These are performed fully clothed and this service can be continued on an ongoing weekly or bi-monthly basis.

  • Massage Sessions at the LWC

    Holistic Massage

    Duration: 30-minute sessions with an experienced massage therapist from the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre.

    Our massage therapists are available to block-book sessions for your staff. 30-minute couch-based relaxing back/body massages at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre. Having offsite massages encourages staff to visit the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre (in the Lloyd’s Building) which will increase awareness of the many health and wellbeing services that they are able to benefit from.

Workshop-style Training Sessions

  • Practical Measures to Improve Sleep

    Duration: 2 x 50-minute sessions to be run by Janice Kaye, Director of Clinical Services at the Lloyd’s Wellbeing Centre (Osteopath and Naturopath).

    Practical Measures to Improve Sleep: Two x 50 min interactive ‘workshop style’ sessions with small numbers of participants (16 max in house) to encourage discussion and peer support. These two sessions are designed to follow on from the introductory lunchtime session ‘How to Improve Sleep’ (see above) and will focus on developing attendees’ daily habits to help participants develop good sleeping patterns:

    • Developing a sleep schedule
    • Napping – is it good or bad?
    • Why and when to exercise
    • Meditation & mindfulness and sleep
    • Developing nutritional habits that help you sleep
    • Supplements, prescribed medicines and sleep
    • Preparing the sleep space
    • Importance of light and temperature
    • Developing habits to nurture sleep.
